Here are my favorites, listed in no particular order. Note that a lot of these books are out of print and hard to find! I was tempted to title this list 'the most unusual mystery novels', because being so unusual is often what sets them apart and makes them my favorites. I've noted that a number of these books are 'difficult', so you've been warned! But the extra effort is worth it in this case (or at least it was for me!)
